VIRTUAL Christmas Eve Service of Lessons and Carols, 8PM

NEW PLAN FOR CHRISTMAS EVE:

Due to a two positive Covid cases in the congregation, we have just made the difficult decision to switch to a virtual Christmas Eve Service ONLY on Friday, Dec. 24, 8:00PM. Please join the livestream (go to https://www.facebook.com/ChurchontheGreen/ ) to hear the story of the birth of Jesus, sing carols and ponder the mystery of Christ’s incarnation. Pastor Ruth will continue her first-person sermon series with the meditation, “What Christmas Means to Me, A Shepherd.” Have a candle ready to light at the end of the service as we sing “Silent Night.”

Live Nativity Covid Alert

On the evening of Dec. 23, we learned that three of the cast members from last Friday’s outdoor Live Nativity have tested positive for Covid. Each was fully vaccinated. One is asymptomatic and two have mild symptoms. We urge all who attended to be tested for Covid at your earliest convenience. We are dismayed to share this news on Christmas Eve, and we do so out of loving care and concern for the wellbeing of all. (The church has pivoted to virtual services for Christmas Eve and at least the next two Sundays, and then we will reassess.) If you know someone who attended the outdoor Live Nativity last Friday, Dec. 17, please help us by sharing this information with them as soon as possible. Let us all be in prayer for the health and safety of our Bloomfield community.

Sunday Worship has Returned to the Chapel (with virtual option)

We have reopened our Chapel for Sunday worship! It is good to back “home” in our sacred space to worship the Lord our God. Services begin at 10:45AM. Please wear a mask.

We continue to live-stream the services as well for those who want or need to worship virtually.

To support this decision, we respectfully request that, for the health of the community, those who attend in-person worship be vaccinated. If you are eligible for a vaccine and have not been vaccinated, the Session invites you to continue to worship virtually until you have been vaccinated.
