Note: At the May 2008 meeting of Session, Rev. Ken Good announced his resignation as pastor of the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church on the Green. effective Sunday June 22nd. A search is underway for an interim pastor while Session begins the process of forming a Pastor Nominating Committee. During this time of transition our Clerk of Session, Ethelyn Fulton, will provide a monthly message.

Greetings for the New year
“I wrap up the last of December.
Ahead hang months of unmapped miles.
Inside me eagerness tangles with trepidation.
Questions rim my heart:
What trial?
What triumph?
What will meet me tomorrow?
Creator of our chronology –
You who set up seasons,
split light from night…
You know what’s waiting.
Hold my hours in Your hands,
tug me toward right,
tap my shoulder and whisper instructions,
fill my heart with Your directions.

As we begin this new year – we are mindful of the many questions, concerns, fears and anxieties which confront us in our every day lives. God reminds us not to worry. The One who set the stars in their courses and gave life to all things has promised to be with us as we walk life’s journey. All we need to do is step out in faith. The God who gave us being and calls each one of us by name will never fail us. All we need to do is open our ears to hear God’s voice, our minds to seek God’s plan for our lives, and our hearts to believe.
As we begin this new year – may each one of us who is a part of the church family On the Green experience God’s comforting presence, calming strength and never failing love.
