The Peragallo Pipe Organ Company has started to assemble the organ, a process that will take several weeks. Photos of the installation are available.. During November, the electrical and air supply systems will be installed, then all 2,869 pipes will be voiced and tuned. The Bloomfield Presbyterian Church on the Green is preparing for the upcoming holiday season with an Advent Arts Workshop scheduled for Saturday, November 29th, from 1:00 - 5:00 PM. For over forty-six years, this event has been a wonderful and exciting tradition and an important part of the church’s history. The Advent Arts Workshop theme for 2008 is “The Coming of Christ.”
Beginning with our Christmas crafts for children & adults, participants will create advent wreaths and ornaments that will assist in keeping a focus on the true meaning of Christmas during the Advent season. This is a delightful afternoon for everyone, and fills the church with music and lots of laughter and good fellowship.
FREE - Professional Family Group Photos for the holidays will be taken!
Christmas Crafts will include: Angels, Shepherds, Doves, Paint a Manger Scene, Star of Bethlehem, My Christmas Blessings Booklets, Tree Ornaments, Stain Glass Ornaments, Acrylic Paintings, Peanut & Seed Pinecones, Model Magic Clay Ornaments, and more! Christmas cards will be created for our soldiers overseas, and Christmas food bags will be printed and decorated for the food pantry.
Also the “World’s Longest Violet & White Advent Chain” will be created! The proper color for Advent is VIOLET, which signifies a period of penitence and preparation for the coming of the King. White represents purity, righteousness, and light.
