New Pipe Organ Delivered on October 13

The new components of our pipe organ, along with the newly refurbished pipes from the old organ, were delivered on Monday, October 13. During the rest of the week, the Peragallo Pipe Organ Company started to assemble the organ, a process that will take several weeks. Photos from the first week are now available.. Watch this space for an announcement of the Sunday when the organ will first be heard in worship. You can also see photos of the organ being built in the Peragallo workshops during August and September and October.

CROP Walk on October 19 a Success!

On October 19, ten walkers from the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church on the Green raised over $2,000 to combat hunger during the Essex County 2008 CROP Walk. A portion of the total funds raised will be returned to local food pantries in surrounding communities, including the Food Pantry at Church on the Green. This money will be used to purchase much needed supplies for our Pantry. CROP, which stands for "Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty", is an interfaith hunger education and fundraising initiative sponsored by Church World Service and organized by 21 CWS/CROP regional offices across the U.S.

Children's Choir Sings at October 19 Worship Service

The revived Children's Choir, under the direction of our new children's music director Carol Baldessari, sang for the first time at the October 19 worship service. They sang three pieces: "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee" for an introit, "Love the Lord" for an anthem, and "They'll Know We Are Christians" for a choral response.

Annual English Tea - October 25

All are invited! Save the date and invite your friends now for this relaxing and enjoyable way to kick off the winter activities for the coming Advent season.

Hymn Sing and Potato Luncheon - October 26

All are invited! Celebrate Reformation Sunday and join us for the monthly Potato Luncheon and a Hymn Sing on October 26. The Potato Luncheon will be served in the gym immediately following morning worship. The cost is $5.00 per person. At 2:00 p.m. we will gather in the sanctuary for a time of scripture reading, prayer and the singing of “all time favorite hymns” (pre 20th century) as chosen by church members in our recent survey. Please note – 20th century hymns will be featured at a future Hymn Sing. So, mark your calendars now and plan to join us for fellowship, food and songs of praise to God – songs which the church has sung for centuries.
