Our special offering this month is for One Great Hour of Sharing. Since 1947 the Presbyterian Church has asked members to support the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering during the season of Lent. Monies collected are divided between Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Self-Development of People and Presbyterian Hunger Program.

From its beginning with a single one hour radio broadcast seeking funds to help people around the world suffering in the aftermath of World War II, One Great Hour of Sharing has continued its mission to help those in need. With this special offering, we joind Christians around the world in a Lenten sacrificial witness on behalf of those who need a helping hand. Presbyterians divide the offering into three parts:
- Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (32%) assists communities recovering from natural or human-caused disasters; supports refugees.
- Self Development of People (32%) invests in communities living in oppression, posverty and injustice; educates Presbyterians on the impact of these issues.
- Presbyterian Hunger Program (36%) acts to feed the hungry, care for God’s creation, and alleviate the systemic causes of poverty so all may be fed.
